Our hearts and prayers go out to all the families of the horrific tragedy in Uvalde, Texas. We pray that God will bring grace, love, comfort, and peace to all who grieve. May God wrap his loving arms around the Uvalde community. This tragedy also reminds us that we always need to be vigilant and proactive to help keep our precious students and staff safe. Houma Christian does have a security plan in place, and we will be revisiting and prioritizing our plan to make sure we do everything within our power to keep everyone safe. We are already working with safety experts to bolster and improve our school-wide security protocols.

We are super excited to announce that we will have a uniform exchange this THURSDAY, on campus, from 2-6pm. You can drop off uniforms, or you can take uniforms. Everything is FREE. Items may be dropped anytime under the awning near the sanctuary, which is also where you can 'shop" on Thursday!

Here is what is happening for the rest of the month of MAY at HCS!
Students can STAY COOL through the end of school with these COOL snack options all week long! We had an abundance of snowball supplies from FunDay so we are skipping cookies sales this week and offering snowballs! All students (High School & Elementary) will have the option to purchase a snowball for only $1 at their recess/lunch break on Monday/Wednesday/Friday of this week. Elementary students will also be able to purchase cool pops for only 50 cents on Tuesday and Thursday! Tastes like summer is almost here!
Tomorrow is the BIG DAY! Elementary Fun Day starts at 10am at Living Word Church. You can purchase Fun Day FUN BANDS online today until 3pm! Today was a super special day on campus - SENIOR CHAPEL. Our Seniors were presented with their stoles, cords, and medals and then had the opportunity to address the student body. The staff prayed over this precious group of students before they completed their parade around campus. We are so proud of all of our 2022 Seniors. Today at 3pm is the deadline to pre-order FUNDAY lunches. Limited food items will be available to purchase on site Saturday. You may also choose to bring a picnic lunch for your family. Here is what is happening for the rest of the month!
This week (Monday & Wednesday) there will be varsity soccer tryouts for BOTH boys and girls in the field next to school from 3-4:30pm. Tryouts are open to girls who are currently in 6th-11th grade and boys who are currently in 7th-11th grade. Everyone should bring cleats, shinguards, a ball and water. Monday evening there will be a parent meeting for girls who are currently in 6th grade. Then, 7th-11th grade girls/parents will meet at 7:30pm.
