Last week HCS staff members joined our BJU Press representative Seth Redmond for a conference at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. Jennifer Breaux, Mandy Rhodes, Wendy Delgado, and Angel Toups joined Christian educators from all around the country for collaboration and learning about the curriculum and biblical worldview focus of our BJU products and textbooks. They were able to meet authors and illustrators and tour the facilities of the press and content areas. It was a wonderful and engaging workshop, and they are excited to bring information and ideas back to share with the faculty of Houma Christian.

Regular office hours from 8:00am to 3:00pm will commence on July 29th.
Reminder: Parents and Grandparents are welcome to attend HCS Elementary Awards Day. The end-of-year awards programs are scheduled for May 23 in the school's sanctuary. Students are required to attend only their respective awards program and may leave after the event. Every student will receive an award. Reminder that Girls Varsity Soccer Tryouts are this Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00-7:30 pm at the Lakes (soccer fields off 311). Wear any Navy shirt, dark shorts, and tennis shoes if you don't have cleats. Remember to bring water with you.
Pk and K had a blast at their inaugural JoyFest yesterday! They enjoyed moving from one activity to another and spending time with their friends. Now, they are all set for summer!

The D.A.R.E program focuses on teaching students essential decision-making skills to encourage them to lead safe and healthy lives. This week, students participating in our D.A.R.E program were assigned to write an essay on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and Caroline Seay received the award for the best essay.
